Livable Communities Program Intern I (Summer 2018)

In this internship you will build your resume while gaining first-hand knowledge of how the nation’s largest non-profit organization works, develops and conveys its programs and messages to 38 million members across the United States.  This is a paid position for the summer of 2018.

Areas of Responsibility: 

This internship includes, but is not limited to supporting research, communications, and other duties.  As an intern, you will gain valuable work experience with an opportunity to expand your knowledge of our programs and outreach. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work closely with the staff in the Livable Communities team to support Director, Livable Communities team, and SVP of Programs, as needed) with timely research, communications and marketing. 
  • Prepare materials utilizing PowerPoint, Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets. 
  • Gather research and compile information on a variety of topics.  This could include online searches, reviewing publications, handling databases and accessing library materials. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of all AARP’s internal information
Educational Background: 
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors.
