  • Full-time Mon. - Fri. 40 hours per week includes a full benefits package including a free family Y membership and program discounts. This position is at our full-time child care center in Onalaska, WI. 
Areas of Responsibility: 

The 4K Collaboration/Child Care Teacher shall be responsible for directing all aspects of classroom curriculum and program activities. The Teacher supervises and guides a child’s development in a safe and healthy environment. Staff schedules are set at the time of employment but are subject to change by the supervisor based on the needs of the center.

  • Plan developmentally appropriate activities based on the creative curriculum.
  • Use positive guidance techniques.
  • Integrate the YMCA Character Development materials into all lesson plans.
  • Provide children with opportunities to develop language and literacy.
  • Provide environment which promotes smooth and orderly transition.
  • Provide daily communication with parents and staff.
  • Promote team building.
  • Complete lesson plans with a developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum; curriculum should be consistent with all School District of Onalaska 4K locations.
  • Conduct self in a professional, responsible manner.
  • Assist in the training and serve as a mentor to other child care staff and assistants.
  • Encourage parent involvement in the programs.
Educational Background: 
Education and experience in Early Childhood
Skills/Experience: 
  • Knowledge in the Creative Curriculum
  • WI DPI Professional Educator License (PK-Grade 3) 
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Strong verbal communication skills
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $12.00 - $13.00
