The Grant Coordinator for Our Changing Planet will support all activities and foci within the lens, working in close collaboration with the Senior Program Officer and Senior Director (Lens Lead) of Our Changing Planet lens, with the primary responsibility of helping to manage the grants process. This includes communications, grants management software, administration, and monitoring of the daily operations of Conservation and Research grants. The Coordinator will support the timely grant processing for the OCP lens, and will assist in recruiting new explorers and projects from the disciplines mentioned above.
- Responsible for communicating with prospective grant applicants within the Our Changing Planet Lens, and assisting them through the application process. This includes providing feedback to potential or repeat applicants before grant proposal submission, including suggesting improvements in project planning and design. (20%)
- Responsible managing relationships for a subset of existing Our Changing Planet grantees. This includes reading reports of completed work by those grantees and presenting their findings to media team. (20%)
- Support grantee recruitment activities, including researching possible prospective grantees and projects. (20%)
- Information management about existing grantees, tracking of projects in the database system, and colating materials for internal or external meetings. (20%)
- Additional special projects to support the Our Changing Planet team. (20%)
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
- 3-5 years experience with research, conservation, environmental assessments, or grant making is required.
Knowledge and Skills Required
The coordinator will work with scientific researchers and conservationists within the fields of oceanography, geology, geography, and planetary science.

- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented work style.
- Excellent multitasking and interpersonal skills
- Advanced knowledge of G-Suite and MS Office, including Excel, Word
- Strong understanding of scientific method and a demonstrated interest in the conservation of the Earth's cultural and natural resources.
- Must have experience in database management. Knowledge of Microedge GIFTS or other grant databases preferred, experience with Salesforce also a plus.
