VP, Regional Support and Engagement

As the Vice President of Regional Support and Engagement, you will lead the Regional Support & Engagement team, managing four direct reports and reporting to the SVP, Teacher Leadership Development. You will set vision and direction for regional support and engagement through collaboration and integration across all program teams (Org-Wide Learning & Strategy (OWLS), Collective Leadership and Engagement (CLE) and TLD) and Regional Operations (Regional Field Executives (RFEs) & Program Partners).You will actively engage and be accountable to the members and leaders of each of these teams. At the end of the day, you are responsible for integrating the various national programmatic efforts into a streamlined and cohesive regional experience that meets regional needs and ensures alignment with our foundations. You are an excellent manager, sense-maker, influencer and strategy-setter. You have an extreme sense of optimism and can build trust with both national and regional leaders to create common processes, avenues and frameworks that will ensure that regions are truly lifted to experience all of us in a coherent and streamlined way. And you are close enough to the work to ensure that the strategy meets the prioritized needs of all national and regional teams. You ensure that things get done by being both a big picture vision-setter and someone that sweats the details. You are flexible and incorporate feedback regularly, but you aren’t afraid to make tough decisions and stand by them. You are fun and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Optimize our org strategy and the work of all national teams by collaboratively setting vision and direction for regional support and engagement across program and regional operations teams
  • Manage team execution around the strategy for regional support and engagement
  • Determine meaningful measures of success and create a system for monitoring progress throughout the year
  • Coordinate the integration efforts across all national program teams to ensure a cohesive regional experience that ultimately leads to impact.(ie. help ensure that key initiatives that touch regions are well coordinated, have appropriately sequenced communications and do not send mixed messages)
  • Design and execute all systems & structures required for learning and integration at every level (national to national, national to regional, regional to regional)
  • Partner with the following groups to ensure alignment and investment in the integration strategy through deep collaboration and understanding:
    • Regional leadership team members, especially those focused on TLD & alumni work
    • Peer Leadership Team members on TLD, OWLS & CLE
    • Program Partners
  • In collaboration with OWLS, determine the data we need to collect in order to better understand regional needs, analyze it, synthesize it and use it to inform the strategies this team will take
  • Build relationships across national teams and regions and navigate the decision-making tree swiftly and thoughtfully
  • Lead the coordination, co-design and execution of all direct supports led by TLD, as determined by the regional needs audit
  • Stay proximate and grounded in real world application and implementation
Skills/Experience: 
  • Full-time Teach For America staff experience required
  • 9+ years experience in strategy-setting, management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Teach For America alum and/or regional staff leadership experience strongly preferred
  • TLD background strongly preferred

Work Demands

  • Ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities 1-2 times/month
