The Black and Latino Achievers Director is responsible for the administration of the program which includes planning, organizing, developing, implementing, recruiting/retaining and evaluating the program in accordance with the purpose and philosophies of the branch and YMCA of Greater Cincinnati. The incumbent is responsible for providing outcome data to support program effectiveness.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Ensures programs and services meet the needs of participants. Includes supervising existing program activities, initiating and establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed.
- Recruits and hires diverse staff and/or volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Manages the program, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program (may include a pre/post test for students, volunteer survey, etc.); securing and scheduling the needed facilities; and creating and scheduling classes, activities and events.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department to develop marketing strategies to further the program and awareness in the Greater Cincinnati area. Develop and distribute marketing materials as needed.
- Develop and maintain a recruitment and retention plan for diverse student base in order to continually increase participation.
- Assumes all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor Degree in related field required and/or successful entrepreneur experience with sales, networking, communications, building strategic alliances, foster social media relationships, creating marketing and business plans, etc.
Skills/Experience:
- Experience working with high school to college age students.
- Capacity to raise funds and grow programs.
- Proven experience recruiting, training and managing volunteers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to facilitate presentations.
- Bilingual ability preferred. Ability to speak, write and translate Spanish fluently a plus.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $46,100.00 - $51,200.00
