Associate Partnerships Manager

This job is no longer available

Somerville, MA, USA
Full-time

WHO WE ARE:

At ActBlue, we build and run a powerful, modern online fundraising platform for Democratic campaigns, progressive organizations, and nonprofits working to create a better future. We’re a nonprofit organization ourselves, and we work to make it really easy for these groups to run grassroots fundraising programs. The result? We're putting power back in the hands of small-dollar donors.

Since 2004, campaigns and organizations across the country have raised over $2 billion using our tools, with an average contribution size of $30 right now. Thousands of groups from presidential candidates to environmental organizations to local school board members count on our fundraising tools to fuel their organizing work.

We’re a small (but growing!) team that has a big impact on the future of our country. Each and every one of us is fully committed to our mission and we are looking for new team members who match our passion and are ready to dive in!

THIS ROLE:

At ActBlue we strive to support work that strengthens the voices of those standing up for progressive values. To that end, our Partnerships Team is dedicated to continually building relationships with other progressive advocacy, charitable, and tech organizations, as well as practitioners in the progressive space. This work is more important than ever right now, as more people become politically engaged, run for office for the first time, and work to impact the future of our country. The Associate Partnerships Manager at ActBlue will play a critical role in researching, exploring, and cultivating relationships with our partner organizations.

Areas of Responsibility:

YOU WILL:

  • Work closely with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and the Partnerships team to create a partnership strategy.
  • Prospect new partnerships and design ways to increase awareness of ActBlue brand and capabilities.
  • Be an ActBlue brand ambassador at events and conferences around the country, occasionally speaking to large groups as a representative of ActBlue.
  • Research progressive organizations and events that ActBlue should support.
  • Communicate and coordinate with multiple departments and outside groups in order to ensure ample preparation for all events.
  • Cultivate relationships and strengthen engagement with entities of influence within the progressive nonprofit and political space.

YOU ARE:

  • A networker: We are looking for team members who are outgoing and excited to connect with people.
  • Motivated by connecting with groups that support historically marginalized communities: We want to expand our expertise here at ActBlue by bringing on new team members who are connected with and interested in building relationships with these nonprofits and advocacy organizations.
  • A teacher: You have the ability to stick to talking points and teach them to others in order to ensure that everyone is on message and on the same page.
  • A storyteller: You will often need to be able to get your message across using budgets and data.  You know how to make this compelling!
  • Anticipator-in-chief: You should always be thinking about the big picture and what’s around the corner even as you tackle the project in front of you.
  • A facilitator: Often the work that we do in Partnerships is behind the scenes to set others up for success.  Their success is our success!
  • Comfortable going solo: While you’ll be working in a larger team, most of your day to day work will be independently driven and managed.
  • A great communicator: We work with so many different groups both inside and outside of ActBlue.  Communicating effectively with existing partners and new groups will be your primary strategy for building and maintaining ActBlue’s relationships.
  • Flexible: You’re adaptable and able to handle a wide range of projects, which will often have competing priorities.
  • Mission-driven: Our online fundraising technology makes it easy for more supporters to participate in the political process every day. We need people who are passionate about furthering this work and providing the best service to every campaign and organization that we work with.  Campaign experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual: Fluency in Spanish preferred.
