Would you like to work for a cause-driven organization supporting over 2500 employees? As the human resources assistant, you will provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department, respond to HR related inquiries, and facilitate the hiring process

If hired for this position you will provide a great staff and member experience by supporting supervisors throughout the hiring process, receiving and directing communications for the HR department, and by managing administrative tasks related to the employee lifecycle to ensure timely processing. You will be the point of contact for Human Resources questions, password resets, application questions, hiring support, verifications of employment, and more.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide administrative assistance to Human Resources including but not limited to the distribution, processing and maintenance of paperwork, records, and reports.
  • Receive and direct communications with staff or members through incoming mail, email, telephone calls, or in person. 
  • Manage all hires through the hiring process to ensure timely processing.
  • Support supervisors throughout the hiring process.
  • Complete background checks on all potential new hires and request more information when needed.
  • Track all incoming new hire paperwork to ensure files are complete.
  • E-verify all new/re-hires within 3 days of hire.
  • Process terminations for the association as requested on a semi-monthly basis.
  • Complete Unemployment Department paperwork as needed.
  • Complete verifications of employment when requested.
  • Create nametags on a weekly basis for all new hires and any replacement requests.
  • Receive and track incoming performance reviews, targets and goals, development plans, minor work forms, and PIFs.
Skills/Experience: 
  • I have 1-2 years of experience with an HRIS system.
  • I know how to give great customer service.
  • I am very proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • I am organized, proactive and know how to get things done.
  • I am comfortable on a computer.
  • I am able to maintain confidential information.
  • I have excellent attention to detail.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $13.93
