About Us
Mission:

We're 2.6 million strong—1.8 million girls and 800,000 adults who believe in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ to change the world.

Our extraordinary journey began more than 100 years ago with the original G.I.R.L., Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low. On March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia, she organized the very first Girl Scout troop, and every year since, we’ve honored her vision and legacy, building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

We’re the preeminent leadership development organization for girls. And with programs from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.

Programs:

At Girl Scouts, you’re going to have tons of fun, make new friends and go on fantastic new adventures.

You’re also going to get the chance to do big things. Our program centers on something called the Girl Scout Leadership Experience—a collection of activities and experiences you’ll have as you earn badges, sell cookies, go on exciting trips, explore the outdoors, do Take Action projects that make a difference and more.

The Result? A Lifetime of Leadership!

In fact, being a Girl Scout helps girls thrive in five key ways. As a Girl Scout, she:

• Develops a strong sense of self
• Displays positive values
• Seeks challenges and learns from setbacks
• Forms and maintains healthy relationships
• Learns to identify and solve problems in her community

Why Work For Us?:

Working at Girl Scouts is more than just a job. We work hard to make a difference in the lives of girls every day. We have a solid history and a bright future. Working here means maximizing your full potential in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

At Girl Scouts Heart of Central California, we value diversity in the workplace. We believe diversity in backgrounds and experiences makes us a stronger organization that is better able to relate to girls who reflect that same diverse makeup.
