The Teach For America Los Angeles team seeks an Associate, Regional Operations to work closely with the Manager, Regional Operations, the heads of functional teams, and the Executive Director to understand, plan for, and support major regional initiatives and events that require cross-functional leadership and engagement. The Regional Operations team drives the region to achieve its annual operational goals and vision. You will lead all regional efforts related to Americorps program operations and compliance; manage our front office; collaborate on planning, oversight, and administration of the regional team budget; maintain a vibrant office culture; and seek out overall efficiencies to maximize regional effectiveness and impact. 

The ideal candidate has a passion for logistics, both 1:1 and group relationship building, and experience supporting others in an office setting. Candidate should be sharp, creative, adaptable, professional, hardworking, humble, and most of all, a great teammate. The Associate, Regional Operations will report to the Manager, Regional Operations. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

AmeriCorps Program Support (20%)

  • Manage the AmeriCorps program regionally, including all seasonal processes related to Los Angeles corps member participant compliance

Regional Operations (45%)

  • Work with the Manager, Operations to ensure that the staff and guest experience meets our operational goals as well as the overall vision for a high-functioning and inspiring work place
  • Assist in the management of our regional budget in collaboration with the Operations Manager to project, communicate, and hold teams accountable to regional budget goals
  • Maintain office supplies and resources, monitor any needs related to the physical office space, and ensure that the office is a welcoming, useful workspace
  • Assume lead or support role on significant projects as needed, particularly when there is a talent gap or unexpected absence, and move toward effective execution along set timelines

Special Projects (30%)

  • Support execution of discrete projects in collaboration with the Corps Member and Alumni Impact, Experience Design, and Development teams
  • Play vital support role in high-stakes initiatives over the course of the year, including, but not limited to, event planning and execution (e.g., benefit dinner, all-staff events); communication to internal and external stakeholders; data collection, management, and analysis (e.g., survey results, budget oversight)

Regional Responsibilities (5%)

  • Create inspiring, relevant, and informative internal communications for staff and other stakeholders who use our office, and/or collaborate with staff on a regular basis
  • Participate in region- and organization-wide initiatives and events such as corps member selection, staff learning and development days, new corps member confirmation, and other regional events
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years of work experience required
  • Experience providing support in an office setting strongly preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce desired
  • Experience with and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required

Work Demands

  • Capacity to work during our office hours from 8:00a-5:30p
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required
  • Ability to travel to event locations across the Los Angeles region
