Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Program Director is responsible for providing Cause-Driven management and operations to the Camp, Youth Development and Family Experience, including Y Achievers, Seniors and a leadership role in the annual support campaign. A strong youth development vision is essential to the success of this role. Day to day operations include associate supervision, fiscal control, program development, program area facility management/maintenance, program optimization and fulfillment, and volunteer development. The Program Director is also responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and leading their associate team in superior levels of member service and engagement.
- Plan, develop and implement camp, youth and family development programs within Association guidelines and Strategic Plan
- Recruit, hire, train, lead, and coach talented program associates and volunteers in all areas of responsibility. Develops strategies to motivate associates and achieve goals. Reviews and evaluates performance of direct reports and supports the evaluation of seasonal associates. Ensures records of associate certifications are current and complete.
- Develop associate schedules for all program areas.
- Create opportunities for members and participants to form small communities and build meaningful relationships.
- Create and implement age appropriate activities that drive member program retention and engagement.
- Foster an environment that is positive and motivating to children and peers.
- Exceed revenue goals and work within assigned expense budget in all areas of responsibility and participate in the budget process as assigned.
- Maintain high quality standards adhering to or surpassing state licensing where applicable, and care and maintenance of program facility and equipment.
- Effectively coordinate facility usage for assigned programs and activities.
- Plan, develop, direct and monitor an effective system of communication with program and management associates regarding progress, strategy and challenges.
- Establishes and nurtures collaborative working relationships with colleagues, peers, direct reports and the consumer.
- May be required to perform all functions of those they supervise and maintain qualifications for Camp Director, Specialty Camp Director, Teen Director, and bus driver.
- Develops, produces and distributes camp information necessary to promote assigned programs in accordance with association marketing plans.
- Ensures the execution of high quality programs through innovative program development, participant/member feedback and program surveys. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
- Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
- Maintains high quality standards adhering to or surpassing Association standards of care and maintenance of program facility and equipment, as well as, ACA accreditation and DHMH regulations.
- Provides support for Association objectives including annual support campaign and volunteer committees/boards as assigned.
- Attends and actively participates in Product Team Leadership meetings and other meetings as assigned.
- Implements Association best practices and policies as it relates to operations including purchasing, payroll, reporting, business management, and record keeping.

Required Experience
- At least 21 years or older
- Y Team leader certification preferred, candidates will be required to complete Team Leader Certificaiton within two year and Multi Team Leader within 3 year.
- Experience developing and implementing camp (preferably ACA standards and State of Maryland regulations), youth and family programming in a 2,500+ unit YMCA or equivalent. Prior experience delivering physical and social programs to seniors preferred
- Maintain all required certifications and ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
- Flexible Schedule, days, nights and weekend
- Completion of Y Basic Training upon hire including New Association Orientation, Prevention of Child Abuse, Basic Life Support and Basic First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens
- Current CPR/AED/O2/First Aid certification (or within 30 days of hire)
Salary: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00
