This position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of aquatic operations including staffing and supervision, coordinating our lifeguard team, training, on-deck supervision and monitoring daily pool operations.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist Aquatic Directors to hire, train, develop and supervise all aquatic staff & volunteers
- Assist in planning, implementation and supervising aquatic programming
- Ensure that all safety requirements are maintained in the pools, on-deck and surrounding areas
- Assist in proper maintenance of the pools
- Assist in lifeguard rotations and swim instruction as needed
- Conducts swim testing for members/guests
- Manage Swim Club during summer operation
- Plan, review and implement the Aquatic Facility EAP
- Monitor daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health & safety regulations. Maintain accurate records of pool chemical levels and aquatic facility maintenance
- Maintain all first aid kits and supplies
- Fulfill Director on Duty and Aquatic Supervisor responsibilities as needed
Skills/Experience:
- 1-3 years Swim Instructor experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Leadership experience in areas of staff supervision & development, program planning & initiative
- Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards
- Demonstrate sound decision making abilities & possess mature judgement
- Must be observant, safety-minded and able to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00
