The Global Events & Sponsorships team of the National Geographic Society is responsible for developing and producing high quality, impactful events and sponsorships that use the power to convene to drive programmatic outcomes, further visibility for our executives, programs and talent, and build donor loyalty and philanthropic support. The Producer will help to conceive and manage programming for domestic and international events. She/he will lead content generation, speaker recruitment and management, and stage production for events ranging from intimate dinners to thought-leader convenings to multiday festivals. The ideal candidate will be creative, a self-starter and a team player with a proven track record of crafting narratives that entertain and advance programmatic or business agendas.
- Program Development: Build event agendas that engage, activate and inspire target audiences based on programmatic priorities and goals. Develop content, lead theme generation and build compelling narratives. (15%)
- Speaker Selection & Management: Collaborate with program and marketing leads to identify speakers for invite-based events. Conduct research and build outreach strategies to bring subject matter experts and leaders in the fields of science, exploration and eduction together to deliver impactful programs focused on the challenges and solutions for building a healthier, more sustainable planet. Manage speaker bookings and oversee speaker travel, itineraries and logistics. (50%)
- Production: Lead onstage production of invite-based live events including running rehearsals, managing talent, preparing moderators, hosts, and speakers, reviewing and advising on verbal and visual presentations, and collaborating with technical production leads. Ensure that visual speaker presentations meet the high standards of the National Geographic brand (35%)
- 5+ years relevant event or marketing experience
