Responsible for any related duties, to include, but not limited to, all functional procedures associated with operating the Front Desk, and accurate monitoring and control of cash receipts and reports during a shift. On duty, the membership representative must create a professional, efficient and enthusiastic department, which encourages new member growth and current member retention. The member representative must maintain informed knowledge of all program areas to correctly handle inquires or forward to appropriate department Directors when necessary. This position is required to fulfill an early morning shift from 5am-1pm Monday-Friday.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Actively engages with and welcomes all members, program participants, and guests to the Y in a personable and family-friendly manner
- Monitor/issue all membership cards for accuracy and validity.
- Review all membership and program registration forms for accuracy during registration.
- Ensure that only paid members, guest and program participants are accessing the YMCA.
- Screen all visitors and prospective members on the Sex Offender Registry
- Manage the emergency button incoming alarms and report locations appropriately
- Answers multi-line telephones, handles routine inquires and relays message to the proper personnel.
- Monitor camera security system for authorized admittance to restricted areas.
- Create and maintain proper Front Desk support systems for all professional staff to encourage communication among departments.
- Ensure that no one loiters behind/around the Front Desk.
- Responsible to maintain a professional, efficient and positive presentation at the Front Desk.
- Read, understand and initial communication memos daily.
- Responsible for membership sign-up and program registration to include computer generated receipts.
- Provide appropriate membership and program cards upon registration.
- Checks daily shift receipts and cash-out reports for accuracy and deposits in locked office safe at the end of shift.
- Relays daily information to next shift person.
- Routes incoming mail to proper personnel and tenants.
- Performs monthly inventory of Front Desk merchandise
- Assists with locker audits annually
- Maintains professional, personable, friendly appearance of our organization in staff shirt/professional dress and with name badge clearly positioned on person.
- Communicate any issues with members or guests to Director of Member Engagement or Director on Duty.
- Any other duties related to this position.
Skills/Experience:
- Excellent computer skills, data entry and attention to detail
- Ability to operate multi-line phone system
- Knowledge of reception area-oriented tasks
- Experience with cashiering/cash handling
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

Compensation/Benefits:
Hourly: $11.00 - $12.00
