Currently we are recruiting for and experienced Human Resources Manager to support our YMCA Branches. This position will allow the ideal candidate an opportunity to grow and develop in the area of Human Resources. If you have a passion for helping others, facilitating change and being creative this is a great position for you. This role provides the opportunity to attract and recruit other cause driven leaders to the Y. The Human Resources manages and facilitates Human Resources activities for assigned branches in accordance with the best practices of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • High volume of recruiting for exempt and non-exempt, full time and part time opportunities. Includes job postings, resume screening, interviews, onboarding, applicant tracking, criminal background checks, reference checks, drug testing, and new hire administration.
  • Responsible for Human Resources activities including talent management coordination, facilitation of benefits and retirement eligibility, leave reports, employment actions, exit interviews, workers compensation reporting, payroll support, and employee relations.
  • Supports branch leadership in all Human Resources matters.
  • Tracks required staff certification.
  • Conducts New Employee Orientations.
  • Acts as liaison to managers and directors to analyze problems, identify service needs, and adopt effective courses of action
  • Resolves employee relations issues as per Association guidelines
  • Serves as a liaison to the Association Services Offices Human Resources Department
Educational Background: 
A successful candidate will have an Associate's Degree or Certificate program in Human Resources or Business Administration.
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; have three years' experience in a relevant field such as Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Proficiency in the operation of computers, related software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphic presentations, information systems, etc. 
  • Must have the ability to travel to multiple branches in the metropolitan DC area.
