The Clark County Branch of the YMCA of Greater Louisville operates before and after care from the branch for 11 area schools. Children are transported by the YMCA and the schools so that they may experience enriching programming focused on youth and character development. This position must have proven skills in developing personal relationships and working with community partners. During the school year, this position oversees the Before and After Care program and our half day preschool program. In the summer months, this position will oversee Camp Clark County, Kinder Camp, and Camp Honor Bright. This position requires face-to-face leadership and involves mornings, evenings and weekend responsibilities. This position will also oversee the branch Kids Club department to deliver high quality care for children while parents work out. This position will take an active role in the Y’s Annual Campaign, including donor and volunteer cultivation.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Uphold the mission of the YMCA and demonstrate behaviors that reflect a determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature.
  • Serves as a role model and advocate of the YMCA Mission, Promise, Values and Voice.
  • Oversees vision and operations of Before and After School program from budgeting, marketing, hiring, training, transportation, and scheduling with a Full Time Site Director.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with principals and key staff of the schools we serve.
  • Provides support to academic achievement for all participants.
  • Supervise FT Site Director, Preschool Teachers, Kids Club Coordinator and Kids Club staff, and Camp Directors.
  • Develop and manage a budget for SACC, Preschool, Kids Club, and Camps totaling $525,000 annual revenue.
  • Meets or exceeds program enrollment goals.
  • Provides input to parent engagement strategies and programs which support branch and Association mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Oversees development and delivery of high quality half day preschool program serving ages 2-4  year olds.
  • Oversee Camp Clark County, Kinder Camp, and Camp Honor Bright working with Camp Directors to ensure a safe and positive environment. Hire, train, observe, and evaluate staff.
  • Carry out the branch vision of an extraordinary commitment to customer service and participant driven customer friendly practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the charitable work of the YMCA and accepts a leadership role in the activities and events of the YMCA Annual Campaign.
  • Participates and provides leadership in Association SACC program director meetings to ensure consistency and quality across programs.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in human services, social services, business, or equivalent preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Previous budget experience of at least 300k
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • 3 years of experience working with youth
  • Strong personal character and values
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technologically proficient, with the ability to use technology to advance the mission

Compensation/Benefits:

  • STARTING SALARY:  $40,000 - Commensurate with experience
