This position is located at our YMCA Camp Letts a residential camp and conference/retreat center. Camp Letts is located on the beautiful Rhodes River overlooking the bay. Working at Camp Letts is a beautiful experience. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Program Director. This position is responsible for creating, managing, supervising, and implementing retreat center related programming in accordance with the association’s mission, policies, and goals. Directing all aspects of Retreat Center staffing to include recruiting, training, development, performance management, supervision, education and certifications, team building, and scheduling. Assisting the Executive Director and Associate Executive Director with operations, policies, programs, projects, scheduling and budget preparation and implementation. Assumes the primary role in the creation, development and implementation of the Retreat center marketing plan. Prepares, analyzes, and controls retreat center budget and ensures that budget goals are met. Assumes primary leadership role in new business bookings coordinating and supervising tours, telephone inquiries, mailings, grass roots marketing and new group status reporting. Provides exceptional service to guests, community groups, and related agencies and trains staff to do the same. Contact all Retreat Center groups two days before arrival to confirm arrangments and make follow up calls no less than 72 hours after departure for follow up conversations and feedback. Schedules Retreat Center Groups and events. Coordinates Open Houses and events for prospective clients and returning groups. Makes well-researched purchasing recommendations to the Executive Director and/or Associate Executive Director. Attends appropriate community events to promote the YMCA.
- The essential functions for this position is to communicate with groups and staff to schedule activities, foodservice, and maintenance. Develope and implement sales strategy to increase Retreat Center revenue.
- Work with and train staff to exceed guests' hospitality expectations. Increases group retention and increases new group booking based on facility, staff, and activity management. Increase group retention rate to Retreat Center groups because of an increase in organization and strength in the position.
- Oversees events including Woman's Wellness, Family Camp. Completes and use's volunteer base to assist with Retreat Center needs. Create fundraising events specific to Retreat Center department to benefit branch Caring For Communities goal. Works effectively with guests, campers and staff and observes the YMCA Code of Conduct at all times.
- Experience acting as the main point of contact with groups, users, participants, or the public.
- Experience working with various departments or groups to coordinate schedules.
- Experience training staff.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with youth groups. Experience working in the hospitality industry.
- Ability to effectively multi-task, have excellent customer service skills, and be a team player.
- Must understand and be committed to working with diverse populations and to YMCA character development.
Salary: $45,000.00
