The Child Care Services YMCA has an immediate opening for an Executive Director in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Reporting to the District Executive Director, the ideal candidate will have noticeable experience providing high quality enrichment and child care programming, leading a strong team to fulfill our promise, and building community relationships including diverse populations. A successful director will be a detail-oriented, effective listener, strong team builder and servant leader.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Cultivate and direct high quality relationship-based engagement strategies.
  • Develop and coordinate activities of the branch board and committees, including annual fundraising campaign. 
  • Establish collaborations with other organizations to further promote the YMCA mission and community togetherness.
  • Oversee branch budget.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, motivation, and supervision of the staff.
  • Steer the strategic plan of the branch in accordance with Association goals.
  • Foster a climate of innovation to develop high quality community focused programs that support the Y’s mission.
  • Display empathy and compassion for people in all interactions with the purpose of delivering the mission of the YMCA.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Child Development, Human Services, or a related field.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.
  • 5 or more years of related experience with progressive management responsibilities including direct supervision of management staff; preferably within the YMCA or related field. 
  • Experience in development of volunteer boards and fundraising.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
  • Experience in, or ability to, expertly relate to people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences. 
Compensation/Benefits:

Salary: $60,000.00 - $68,000.00
