Member Services Officer, Sustainer Program

Under the direction of the Manager of the Monthly Partners Program, the Member Services Officer will help coordinate NRDC’s Monthly Partners program which is comprised of more than 30,000 donors and raises approximately $5 million annually. Other duties include assisting with honorary and memorial donations, helping to manage telemarketing campaigns throughout the year and assist the Member services team with general membership inquiries.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist Monthly Partner members with their questions and concerns regarding their giving.
  • Process checks from monthly donors.
  • Update billing information for sustaining donations in gift processing database.
  • Run reports to find lapsed donors and conduct mailings to update their billing information.
  • Process honorary and memorial donations, including sending out cards and adding gift information to the database.
  • Add gift membership information to the database.
  • Respond to issues related to our telemarketing campaigns and ensure that financial reports are submitted on time.
  • Assist team with general membership inquiries as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of direct marketing fundraising or customer relations
  • Previous experience with monthly giving programs a plus
  • Enthusiastic, outgoing and ability to handle simultaneous, ongoing projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Interest in helping people
  • Desire to significantly cultivate and grow a select segment of the direct mail Membership
  • Ability to work independently and across teams
  • Working knowledge of computer databases and Microsoft Office required
  • SalesForce experience is a plus
  • Keen interest in nature and the environment is preferred
