The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Communications Assistant is responsible for the daily management of the communications VP calendar and other administrative duties as well as providing support to the communications team.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support the communications VP and team on administrative duties and a variety of tasks as assigned
  • Maintain organization of the communication VP’s office, email and schedule
  • Generate and prepare the communications team’s weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
  • Perform routine administrative tasks such as opening/sorting mail, answering and directing phone calls, responding to correspondence, preparing outgoing mail and email 
  • Produce reports, presentations, meeting notes, spreadsheets, and briefs to be shared with leadership and other teams as requested
  • Project management of team campaigns and special projects as assigned
  • Compose, review and edit correspondence
  • Maintain records of business transactions
  • Transcribe notes during meetings, to include directives and assignments, and distribute to attendees
  • Maintain confidential paperwork and documents while using the utmost discretion
  • Research tools and technology to help improve the team’s performance and provide recommendations
  • Organize, file, and maintain documents for record keeping
  • Develop and maintain multiple team tracking reports and various presentations
  • Assist in managing invoices and budget related documentation
  • Assist communications team with activities as assigned
  • Assist all WWP teams as needed for special events, fundraisers and key initiatives
  • Other related duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Communications, Journalism or Business

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an administrative support position preferred
  • Nonprofit, public relations, media relations or communications experience preferred
