To be responsible for the planning and delivery of an effective, safe facility with an operations plan that will utilize a janitorial and maintenance staff. To maintain a clean facility, develop a preventative maintenance schedule, and repair equipment in a timely manner.
Areas of Responsibility:
- To hire, supervise, develop, evaluate and recognize janitorial and maintenance staff.
- To implement a safe and effective plan of facility cleanliness and maintenance.
- To implement a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Responsible for the care and maintenance of facilities and grounds.
- Develop and monitor budget for maintenance and janitorial department.
- Must attend required YMCA training.
- Must have strong communication skills, practical and strong decision making skills, versatility, initiative and strong human relations skills.
- To meet with YMCA Facility Maintenance Committee on a monthly basis.
- To conduct a daily walk through to evaluate the condition of all equipment and facility.
- To follow YMCA Customer Service policy.
- To attend staff meetings and training sessions as directed.
- To communicate a positive attitude to all members, program participants and staff.
- Assist in Long Range Planning process and execution of the objectives developed in that process.
- To accept additional responsibilities as deemed appropriate in order to help the YMCA accomplish its Mission.
- Responsible for Risk Management Policies and Procedures
- Responsible for landscaping and attractiveness of the building.
- Responsible for warranties.
- Provides overall coordination of facility, vehicle, and grounds maintenance and cleanliness.
- Promote positive environment that fosters safety and YMCA values.
- Manages preventative maintenance of facility equipment, including pool and HVAC.
Skills/Experience:
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pool, HVAC, plumbing systems, carpentry, general repair, and other maintenance-related areas.
- Skills in supervision, budget management and project management.
- Be able to obtain CDL if needed.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations, during as well as after hours.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $32,000.00 - $38,000.00
