Managing Director, Strategy & Analysis

As the Managing Director of Strategy & Analysis, you will use your advanced analytical, communication and strategic consulting skills to lead, support, or contribute to special projects with impact across the national organization. You will help the organization answer strategic questions that involve data from multiple teams and provide recommendations that move work forward in collaboration with other national and regional teams. You will work closely with senior leaders across the organization to identify pressing questions, analyze data, and provide clear recommendations for implementing solutions.  Your portfolio will include significant work in the areas of development and finance, utilizing data for continuous improvement, requiring expertise in data analysis, as well as the problem-solving skills associated with strategy or management consulting. You will work closely with the Senior Vice President of OWLS, as well as the Vice President of Data, Reporting, and Insights, and will report directly to the VP of Internal Learning and Innovation.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, applied mathematics, or the social sciences
Skills/Experience: 
  • Extensive consulting skills – from discovery and problem identification, generating solutions, and recommendations for implementation – honed from designing and implementing complex change initiatives in business or not-for-profit organizations including:
    • Development of predictive models, scenario planning, risk analysis and mitigation,
  • Excellent quantitative thinking, including the ability to examine available data, apply decision rules and analytical methods to produce meaningful insights
  • Ability to generate high-quality written and visual material for a variety of audiences, quickly
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives
  • Strong attention to detail and a fundamental concern for the accuracy of information, including the ability to organize large amounts of data and track multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Conjoint Survey Analysis a PLUS

Prior Experience

  • 5-7 years of prior experience in strategy or management consulting or data analysis roles
  • Comfort starting a team or working in a startup environment, including experience leading effectively through ambiguity, change and unpredictability

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel
  • Facility with data collection, cleaning and analysis via SAS, STAT, R, or other stats packages

Education

  • Master’s degree in business, preferred

Work Demands

  • Ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities [5-7 times a year]
