The Program Director I- Gymnastics will be responsible for direct supervision of staff, processing payroll and scheduling, administration, fiscal management, and program development of all gymnastics programs. Duties will include coaching and teaching 15-20 hours per week including competitive teams and competitions, and instructing class programs, assisting with birthday parties, camp, private lesson scheduling, gymnastics center fundraisers and operation of two or more gymnastics competitions annually.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage all functions of the gymnastics programs and related programs including but not limited to: marketing, registration, communication, operation of facilities, scheduling of facilities, planning and implementation of all gymnastics center activities.
- Prepare and time phase competitive team gymnastics budget.
- Ensure that all assigned budget accounts are monitored, and modified as needed.
- Responsible for monitoring cash advances, check requests and purchase orders for all related programs.
- Grow the preschool and progressive gymnastics program to result in increased enrollments.
- Maintain and expand existing competitive gymnastic team at a high quality level with emphasis on teaching progressions.
- Responsible for formulating and monitoring staff and class schedules.
- Monitor and stay current with all trends and changes in girls and boys Progressive and competitive Junior Olympic Gymnastics programs
- Facilitate promotional activities to increase growth in all gymnastics center programs.
- Create systems to ensure quality class instruction emphasizing positive, safe and progressive teaching techniques for all classes.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Skills/Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience coaching and supervising a gymnastics program
- USAG Professional Membership and current safety certification and U100 USA Gymnastics certification
- Experience creating staff and gym rotation schedules
- Knowledge of USAG skill levels 1-10 along with proven experience coaching levels 3-9
- Computer literacy including Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet usage, and Publisher
- Ability to provide strong and effective leadership to a large staff team
- Must have experience with and knowledge of all gymnastics apparatus
- Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
- Professional demeanor and the ability to work effectively with the public, staff and volunteers
- Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures
- The physical ability to lead and participate in coaching activities and perform related physical skills including proper spotting techniques
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and O2 certification required within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organization: American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute.
