Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director, the Director of Aquatics is responsible for the leadership and delivery of the aquatic programs including: swim lessons, private lessons, swim team, lifeguard certification classes, and aquatic training events.  In addition, the Director of Aquatics will provide leadership to our off-site aquatics programs and services.  The incumbent will show a commitment to Y Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Director of Aquatics will provide leadership and direction to the following program areas:

  • Swimming Lessons
  • Individual Swim Lessons
  • Competitive Swim Team
  • Water Exercise
  • Certifications
  • Aquatics Staffing
  • Off-Site Aquatics Operations

Additionally, the incumbent will provide administrative leadership in the following areas:

  • Hire, train and schedule all staff
  • Ensure top notch program quality through routine surveys and evaluations
  • Liaison to Parents Swim Team Organization
  • Participate as a valued member of our leadership team
Educational Background: 
Specialized training in pool operations, current aquatic certifications, CPR and First Aid certifications within 90 days. Background in Health, Physical Education, or Recreation preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum two years as a lifeguard/pool operator with supervisory experience preferred.

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification

The preferred candidate must have or obtain within 180 days:

  • Pool Operators certification
  • Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Instructors certification
  • Swim Lesson Instructor certification
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $29,000.00 - $33,000.00
