Under direction of the CEO, the Business & Finance Director maintains the financial records of the YMCA, performs business functions related to asset and debt management, administers budget/forecasting and oversees contracts.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensure the charitable mission of the YMCA is of top priority in all business encounters.
  • Leads the promotion of and enforcing of business and finance, investment, ethics, whistleblower and related policies.
  • Facilitates association finance and investment strategy for the endowment fund and capital reserve fund with CEO.
  • Leads the administration of the association insurance program.
  • Oversees all YMCA business functions; including those that are directly involved with administration and those directly overseen by other departments of the YMCA (I.e. membership, preschool, school age childcare and fundraising).
  • Prepares monthly financial reports and other reports as requested by the CEO.
  • Oversees all accounting functions for tracking of accounts payables, accounts receivables, bookkeeping, and receipting.
  • Supervises and directs the work of vendors and independent contractors that carry out business, accounting, information technology, office equipment and auditing functions.
  • Oversees invoicing and evaluating of major, ongoing building/grounds rentals and leases.
  • Coordinates all association vendor business relations.
  • Coordinates all aspects of the annual budgeting process and annual audit.
  • Assists in capital, endowment and annual support campaigns.
  • Responsible for monitoring the equipment necessary to carry out the primary business functions of the YMCA; currently including land and cellular telephone equipment, computers, software and copier/printing equipment.
  • Serves as the designated back up for other administrative functions; including payroll and human resources.
  • Maintain a professional image of the Y in the facility and the community.
  • Maintains appropriate level of physical fitness necessary to carry out all job functions.
  • Attend training and meetings as determined by supervisor.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in finance, business, accounting or related    field.  Master’s Degree preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader Certification preferred.
  • Must demonstrate personal values consistent with the YMCA Mission.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hiring Salary Range

$49,785 - $62,231 - $74,678 annually

   Min.          Mid.        Max

  • LTD: 100% Y paid                                         
  • Life Insurance: 1x salary – 100% Y paid
  • Retirement: 12% Y paid (Once eligibility requirements are met)
  • Vacation: Per personnel policy:  Full time employees accrue and are eligible to use paid vacation based on the scheduled fulltime YMCA service length.
