We are seeking a smart, energetic and ambitious college student to join our AARP’s IT department this summer. The SharePoint Intern will provide support to IT by assisting with the creation of deliverables and supporting an agile development team while getting acclimated to a business setting. The intern will also assist with administering SharePoint sites and content while working with end users. During this internship program, you will gain experience and exposure to SharePoint related key projects and processes.
This 3 months internship will be in our Rockville, MD office.
The selected candidates will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where they will interact with key stakeholders to assist with the development and enhancement our business processes.
The candidate may work on one or more of the following, but not restricted to:
Organize Information/data on SharePoint, File share, and KB articles. Ensure licenses, installation instructions and other relevant information are accurate and available for all applications. Ensuring proper recording, documentation and closure of assigned tasks. Properly escalating unresolved queries to the next level of support. Walking customers through problem solving process via phone/skype. Utilizing excellent customer service skills and exceeding customers' expectations.
Some of the key responsibilities will be:
- Assist with change management, SharePoint migration effort and Site Cleanup.
- Assist team members with drafting deliverables for our clients
- Assist the development team by supporting the Agile/SCRUM process and attending weekly stand up meetings
- Assist with documenting internal team processes and fostering a continuous improvement culture
- Assist with requirements gathering and the creation of solution mockups/wireframes
- Attend meetings and document minutes and action items
- Assist with SharePoint end user help desk support requests as needed
- AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.
