Under supervision of the Branch Executive, the Senior Program Director of Sports and Aquatics Programs, directs, develops, organizes and implements high quality, mission-driven and member focused sports and seasonal aquatics programs for all ages. Oversees and develops the sports and aquatics departments and programs, including staff supervision, budget management and planning. Collaborates with and supports membership.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in physical education, recreation or equivalent preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum age of 21.
- Two or more years of supervisory experience in sports and/or aquatics programming.
- Experience with computers including word processing and database software.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the recruitment, training and supervision of staff and volunteers.
- Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communication skills, including the ability to make oral presentations. Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, peers, volunteers and supervisor. Ability to effectively communicate information on YMCA Sports and Aquatics Programs.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
- Current certifications in YMCA Sports Director, Aquatics Director, Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, CPR, AED, O2 and First Aid or ability to acquire within 90days.
