The Gateway Region YMCA has an immediate opening for a Cause-Driven leader to provide leadership to the Association Properties Department.  Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President of Properties is responsible for the management of the Association’s properties, grounds and other assets and provides direct leadership to the maintenance and development of the Association’s facility and property assets.  This is a wonderful opportunity for a motivated, cause-driven leader to join an innovative, mission-based association with an exciting vision for the future. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The successful candidate will develop long-range strategic plans for the Association’s properties, grounds and other physical assets and will oversee the total operation of the Properties department for the Association including implementation of all capital improvements, building renovations, maintenance and improvement projects and housekeeping activities.    
  • Candidates must demonstrate successful experience in construction project management, facility management, staff supervision/training, bidding process and fiscal management.  The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills along with a proven track record of construction project management, facilities management and staff development.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in facility management or a related field or equivalent
Skills/Experience: 

Experience:

  • Ten + years experience in facility management or closely related field

Special skills:

  • Proven skills in construction project management, budget management and project management
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, swimming pools and other maintenance related areas
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and writing skills
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking
  • Ability to successfully lead, recruit and develop staff of all levels
  • Possess and demonstrate commitment and passion for mission-centered objectives
  • Change capacity
