The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a proactive, energetic and results-focused individual to join the Association’s Human Resource team as the Director of Employee Relations to support our eight branch locations.  This position is responsible for compliance issues related to all facets of human resources.  This includes but not limited to employment law, disciplinary action and hearings, and Association-wide counseling on employee issues and investigations management. Position is also responsible for assisting with the exempt and non-exempt performance management process and spearheading employee retention efforts. Hiring Salary:  $62,000 to $65,000 annualized.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for Association personnel; lead in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures including employee handbook revisions.
  • Partners with the VP of HR to develop and maintain performance management and appraisal programs. Assists employees and supervisors with questions and workplace problems.
  • Remains current with employment laws and regulations and strives to mitigate liability.
  • Maintains an effective program of compliance with laws and regulations related to human resources and manages relationships with compliance agencies and YMCA legal counsel. 
  • ·Ensures timely and accurate submission of data requested by the EEOC, YMCA of the USA, Department of Labor, etc.
  • Completes quarterly turnover and exit interview reports and associated analysis.
  • Handles employee relations to include counseling to supervisors and employees; performs investigations and analyzes trends and patterns to improve employee satisfaction and retention and mitigate liability for the Association.
  • Works with Association Human Resources team in coordination and leadership of the monthly Human Resources Experience team and tasks.
  • Coordinates and executes employee satisfaction surveys and assists with associated action plans.
  • Conducts exit interviews with full time staff.
  • Maintains external reporting system through EthicsPoint and coordinates follow-up regarding issues raised.
  • Responsible for annual Celebration of Excellence honoring employee performance excellence
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or equivalent required
Professional in Human Resources (SHMR-CP) certification preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Five to seven years of human resources experience is required  
  • Knowledge and professional experience in employee relations, and performance management
  • Proficiency in project and time management is required to properly execute the position 
  • Current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources
  • YMCA Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred
Compensation/Benefits: 

$62,000.00 - $65,000.00
