Under the guidance of the Vice President of Programs, this position oversees the development of staff, programs, finances and daily operations of the soccer program (Farha Turf Center), concessions, custodial, tournaments and academy/power sports for the Farha Sports Complex. The Senior Program Director acts as a liaison to committee(s) and advisory board(s) as directed and play an active leadership role in the Association's Strong Community Campaign. It is anticipated that an average work week will consist of 50 hours to complete duties.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Effectively communicate the mission, vision and values of the Wichita YMCA.
- Play a strong leadership role in the Strong Community Campaign.
- Foster positive relationships with staff, program participants, community partners and volunteers.
- Hire and train program and facility staff in areas of responsibility.
- Provide on-going leadership, professional guidance and development to staff.
- Assist direct reports on the development of program/instructional staff.
- Support and guide staff in the development and management of department budgets.
- Ensure high quality programs through innovative program development, audits and evaluation.
- Provide direction on overall participation growth in all departments and programs.
- Guide and direct department staff on providing a safe and clean program environment/area.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with staff (department meetings, one-on-one monthly meetings with direct reports, etc.).
- Reach out and communicate with potential partners, sponsors and tournament contacts.
- Maintain complete familiarity of all risk management procedures and policies for department areas and the overall branch.
- Provide coverage and leadership for sports centers at a variety of times (evenings and weekends).
- All other duties assigned.
Educational Background:
Four year degree in related field
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum age 24
- Minimum five years’ experience in youth program development and management with a sports focus
- Minimum five years’ experience and proven success managing and developing staff and finances
- Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire
- Maintain current CPR, AED, first aid and emergency oxygen or acquire within 60 days of hire

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $52,000.00 - $72,000.00
