  • Plan and execute workshops for 1st and 2nd year CMs centered around: lesson planning, student engagement, collecting and analyzing data 2-4 times a month on Saturdays, Sundays or after school on Tuesday/Thursdays. (exact dates based on personal schedule)
  • Lead small groups of CMs who need extra support in weekly lesson planning and data collection
  • Ideal candidates enjoys lesson and unit planning, instructional facilitation, adult facilitation, inspiring others, and have a commitment to inclusivity and equity.
  • Leading workshops at All-Corps Conferences (March 10th, April 21s and May 12th) from 2:30-3:30 is required
  • The temp will report to Managing Director, Corps Members Coaching – Tosha May  
Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Workshops Facilitation and Prep:  During the week and ACCs, we provide workshops for CMs to sharpen their teaching skills. These workshops are about an 1-2 hours and are centered around the Core Components of instruction, Critically Responsive Pedagogy and the Student Outcomes Rubric
  • Small Group Support and Planning:  During the week, we will have a small group of teachers who need support with lesson planning, curriculum implementation and data collection. This group should need once a week for the first month and then maybe once every other week depending on CM progress. The role would be to coach and support the weekly planning and quiz planning and send that their coach before 5 pm on Sunday.
  • Team Meetings and progress updates:  Temp will be responsible to attend, share progress, and participate in team meetings with Tosha or the coaches to prepare for and align on supports for the small group and workshops (typically 30 min a week)
Skills/Experience: 
  • Interest in instructional adult facilitation and creation of session materials
  • Knowledge of how to implement curriculum and data into the classroom with teacher specific modifications
  • Commitment to TFA Core Values and a lens of equity and inclusiveness in all work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organization, planning, and execution
  • Familiarity with print design, advertising, marketing, or social media

Work Demands

  • Ability to attend ACCs from 2:30-3:30 for workshops (March 10th, April 21st and May 12th)   
  • 1-3 hours on Saturday and Sunday planning with and supporting a small group
  • Ability to talk with TLD team for 30 min/week for progress update and planning
  • Ability to lead 1 additional workshop/month outside of ACC
  • Remainder of work time can be flexible/remote with internet access (e.g. – evenings, at home, in office, weekends)
