This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the general direction of the Facilities Director, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the overall administration and direction of the Maintenance Department.  Working with the Facilities Director elements of administration, planning, accountability, and operation are under his/her leadership. S/He is responsible for setting the schedules of the maintenance staff in conjunction with the projects and needs determined by the Facilities Director. S/He is also responsible for the timely completion of projects and overall daily maintenance. Compliance of all codes and regulations, both internal and external, must be adhered to on a consistent and thorough basis.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • This individual must possess human relation skills that will enable him/her to relate to and direct a large staff, as well as being able to interact with the management staff, guests and campers. Must be skilled in holding employees accountable, as well as coaching and development of his/her subordinates.
  • This person must possess knowledge and skills in all the areas of Maintenance: electrical, HVAC, training, inventory control, plumbing, general construction, fleet vehicle administration and maintenance.
  • Additionally, the Maintenance Supervisor needs to be able to exercise good judgment and problem solving skills for all types of emergency situations, (HR, Guest, Weather, Medical, etc…).
  • He/she must possess physical strength to lift waist height up to 50 pounds.
  • Compiles and prioritizes daily work order assignments.
  • Complete a physical inspection of grounds daily, noting any problems.
  • Oversees the Maintenance and Grounds Keeping Staff.
  • Responsible for MOD shifts.
  • Must be available for emergency calls when on duty.
  • Must be able to work weekends and night shifts. Must be available to cover when PM is not on site.
  • Oversees all phases of project completion.
  • Responsible for "Safety" training and the implementation of our safety programs.
  • In the absence of the Facilities Director, he/she supervises the operation.
  • Trains and supervises all staff. Oversees staff numbering up to 15 people during the peak season.
  • Participates in the implementation of the YMCA of the Ozarks energy and environmental plan.
  • Orders materials and supplies for daily operation after approved by Property Manager.
  • Implement a close working relationship with all departments involved in providing our guests and campers a positive experience.
  • Ongoing development of building inventory and needs.
  • Provides input to departmental policies and procedures by participating in special meetings and serving on committees as assigned.
  • Seeking methods for improvement, providing quality and service to meet the needs, wants and perceptions of the guests.
  • Maintains strict standards in regards to Local, State, and YMCA guidelines.
  • Provides updates of all electrical, water, septic, and phone infrastructure.
  • The job description has been developed as an outline for basic responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned by the Facilities Director from time to time as deemed appropriate and/or necessary.
Educational Background: 
High School Diploma, trade school or training certifications in general maintenance.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum, seven years of management experience in a full service maintenance establishment is required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $34,000.00 - $40,000.00
