In alignment with the mission of the McGaw YMCA, the Sebring-Lewis Center (SLC) Gym Manager is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, expansion and evaluation of youth and adult sport programs. The manager must share our commitment to diversity and inclusion, demonstrate the ability to develop and relate to youth and adults of all backgrounds and levels, and support our effort to create a restorative justice environment. The SLC Gym Manager will report to the Senior Director of Youth Development.
Areas of Responsibility:
The manager will focus on staff development, program innovation, and operational effectiveness.
- Facilities Management: planning, scheduling and managing sports and programs.
- Fiscal Management: Overseeing SLC department program budget, purchasing equipment, program supplies
- Leadership: Supervise and schedules all SLC employees and contracted personal
- Marketing: Works closely with the marketing team to promote all programs, develop program guide, web maintenance and McGaw app
- Organization: Coordinating all aspects of youth & adult sport programming, communicates program offerings with families and McGaw membership staff, and SLC team
Educational Background:
Bachelor degree in sports recreation management, athletic training, physical education and/or a post-secondary equivalent
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 3-4 years recreational supervision
- Proven results with experience in building and implementing sport programming.
- Experience in creating budgets and re-forecasting.
- Experience with coaching sports to youth groups of 6-25 individuals.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Current CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $36,900.00 - $46,200.00
