The Youth and Teen Development Director is responsible for the overall planning, implementation and evaluation of Summer Day Camp, Teen Leaders Club, World Service for Teens, Robotics, Lego League, Youth in Government and Travel and Adventure programs at the Lima Family YMCA.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develp, manage and monitor department budget. meet or exceed budget targets.
- Serve as staff liason for Volunteer Advisory Committees.
- Develop programs taht meet the needs of tyhe community, and that achieves YMCA goals.
- Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate staff / volunteers.
- Develop and implement fundraising efforts for YMCA Teen programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential funding sources.
- Develp and implement enrollment strategies.
- Provides "hands-on" leadership to Teen programs.
- Represents YMCA at apppropriate meetings and events.
- Models the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and provides/maintain an environment in which these values are evident to staff, volunteers, members and program participants.
- Participate as an effective member of the YMCA Management team, providing asssistance in YMCA activities/special events, tour/coverage duties, and attend all staff functions as directed.
- Provides outreach and follow up service to teens.
- Paticipate in community activities that promote the YMCA.
- Prepare statistical, analytical and narrative reports regarding programs.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies and leaders.
- Coordinate management and maintenance of the YMCA facility and equipment.
- Ensure that all YMCA health and safety regulations are followed.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Skills/Experience:
- Three or more years experience working with youth and teens in a diverse socio-economic environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Initiative, creativity, flexibility.
- Must be computer efficient.
- Ability to lead and motivate others.
Compensation/Benefits:
$27,000.00 - $34,000.00
