Ensure financial reporting is accurate and accounting systems and procedures are followed.  Maintain accurate flow of account activity through the general ledger. Bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, month/year end budgets. Maintains all employee HR files and tracks employee anniversary days to ensure they receive the appropriate benefits.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Maintain accurate and to date general ledger including reconciling accounts monthly and processing month end transactions.
  • Monitor general and payroll checking account balances and assist CEO cash management.
  • Provide assistance to staff with general accounting/bookkeeping procedures. 
  • Maintain bank records and reconcile monthly.
  • Manage fixed asset schedule to ensure compliance with capitalization policy.
  • Produce employee payroll and maintain all necessary payroll taxes etc. all processing.
  • Convert Y accounting system from Quick books to an integrated association wide YMCA system.
  • Convert the Y accounting system from a cash basis to an accrual system.
  • Prepare financial statements and other financial reports on a timely basis, in accordance with GAAP and applicable FASB standards.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly and quarterly tax returns.
  • Design and maintain various financial spreadsheets, such as insurance schedules, budget graphs, etc.
  • Prepare and issue IRS 1099 according to IRS guidelines. 
  • Prepare and issue W2 and W3 forms.
  • Provide accounting software support and create new report designs.
  • Enter the association budget data into computerized accounting system.
  • Provide support for front desk point of sale software.
  • Hire, supervise and evaluate finance support staff.
  • Track all employee anniversary day and number of hours worked.
  • Process L&I claims.
  • Notify employees as they become eligible for benefits.
  • Perform internal audits as required. Coordinate and document the annual audit. Prepare year end reconciling schedules as required by auditors.
  • Complete special projects and perform other duties as required.
  • Invoice YMCA annual support campaign pledges.
  • Record and invoice for various YMCA Departments.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of five years experience
  • Must possess computer accounting software experience and advanced knowledge of computer spreadsheets
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00
