The Training & Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, delivery, and evaluation of all assessment, development, and learning programs with the goal of enabling a high performing, mission and values focused organization.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Oversee the development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs (including on-line, instructor led, and blended learning) for professional and managerial staff.
- Manage a team of learning and development professionals focused on delivering a high level of service, training support, and subject matter expertise to organizational stakeholders.
- Manage the annual succession planning program and support talent management initiatives focused on the building of bench strength through individual development and career pathing.
- Assist with the development of long term learning strategy and curricula while partnering with senior management to ensure training programs support changing business needs and address new initiatives.
- Apply creative approaches and instructional methodologies to the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning content (e.g., custom eLearning, video, simulation).
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand content and learning requirements and produce storyboards and other design documents to support the development process.
- Manage the organization’s Learning Management System and ensure tracking/reporting of learning transcript completion (related to compliance, et al.).
- Develop multimedia and web-based learning interventions using eLearning authoring tools.
- Conduct analysis on training effectiveness, maintain appropriate metrics, and recommend improvements to existing programs as necessary.
- Manage annual training budget and selection of consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Maintain connections to relevant professional organizations and remain abreast of industry trends.

Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience designing and implementing broad scale instructor-led, technology-based, and blended learning programs and initiatives from needs assessment through delivery required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing staff required.
- Experience with and/or understanding of leadership development concepts required.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) strongly preferred.
- Prior experience utilizing Articulate Storyline 360 or comparable authoring tool a plus.
- Experience with DDI’s competency platform a plus.
Certifications & Licensure
- DDI certification or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) preferred but not required.
