At the La Crosse Area Family YMCA, we believe that every child should know the life-saving skills of swimming and that every community resident should have the opportunity to experience the job and well-being that water activities can bring. To accomplish this, our Aquatics Director will work side-by-side with their staff, their colleagues and our community to create a welcoming pool environment for all; develop high-quality programming, and establish partnerships with other area organizations with a focus on water safety and education. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Candidates must This position will oversee the development, administration, operations, budget, risk management and safety of all aquatics programming, the scheduling of pool space for all pool related activities, and the supervision of lifeguards and swim lesson/water safety instructors. They will work closely with the Aquatics Director at the YMCA-Dahl branch to ensure quality and safety training is consistent throughout the association. 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • Candidates must have up-to-date certifications in Professional CPR/AED and First Aid, and YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications; strong interpersonal and communication skills; programming & supervisory experience a plus. Candidates for this position must have strong relationship building and communication skills, a passion for aquatics and water safety, and be highly innovative and organized. 
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $32,000.00 - $35,000.00
