This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development,healthy living and social responsibility. Teachers/Facilitators provide a quality experience for children and parents that focuses onbuilding achievement and belonging among youth and within their families.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
- Nurtures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement Opens a new window and belonging Opens a new window.
- Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards.
- Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
- Cultivates positive relationships, conducts parent conferences, and maintains effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers and connects them to the YMCA.
- Maintains required program records.
- Maintains a clean and safe program site and equipment.
- Supports fundraising efforts.
- Actively participates in program events and activities as assigned.
- Actively participates in department, branch and association meetings and trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Classroom/recreational environment. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking and playing with children at their level are required.

- Hours will include evening and weekend work.
- Reliable transportation and travel among local branches and off-site facilities required.
Compensation/Benefits:
Hourly: $9.00 - $11.00
