The incumbent supports the Center to Champion Nursing in America, to assure alignment and reporting of Campaign for Action work including but not limited to:

  • Technical assistance provided to state-based coalitions
  • National-level stakeholder engagement and activities
  • Product development
Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manages multiple projects that contribute to the achievement of priorities.
  • Works with staff, contractors and consultants to execute projects.
  • Assists in overseeing and performing project and program analysis.
  • Provides technical assistance to state-based coalitions and other groups working to implement the Institute of Medicine recommendations on the future of nursing by organizing webinars, teleconferences, and other convenings, with specific emphases on
    • Sustainability & fundraising
    • Culture of Health
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining associated project management processes and helping to develop day to day new and evolving business processes.
  • Supports CCNA Chief Strategist / Senior Vice President, Public Policy Institute, with special projects as assigned.
  • Executes administrative tasks as required (such as calendaring, organize meetings, process expense reimbursements and assist with travel arrangements as needed).
  • Develops and maintains relationships with functional areas throughout CCNA and AARP.
  • Facilitates and participates in dialogue among colleagues on common issues and best practices.
  • The incumbent advises the Director of Advocacy & Consumer Affairs on federal and state advocacy efforts.
  • Responsibilities include project management for advocacy related activities
Educational Background: 
Completion of a bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience; Master’s degree preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels and across multiple departments. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and electronic communication.
