This leadership role is responsible for implementation and outcomes of  Chapter Constituent and Third-Party Events by recruiting, training and managing our team of Constituent Event Directors located throughout Georgia and coordinating with the Georgia Leadership Team and Board as well as the Alzheimer's Association  National Office to drive positive outcomes.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for Implementation and Outcomes of  Chapter Constituent and Third-Party Events
    • Direct responsibility for budgeted outcomes of Georgia Chapter Constituent and Third-Party Events, currently configured as Walk to End Alzheimer's, Longest Day and a variety of third party events.
    • Work with National Walk to End Alzheimer's and The Longest Day teams to ensure that Georgia Chapter events are following assigned timelines, best practices and guidelines.  
  • Recruits, Trains and Manages Team of Constituent Event Directors located throughout Georgia
    •  Responsible for daily management of staff team that will be geographically distributed
    • Responsible for ongoing training and support of team in order to keep pace with the objectives and outcomes required of constituent events within the Alzheimer's Association, Strategic Plan. 
  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting on the progress of Constituent Events to the Georgia Leadership Team and Board as well as the Alzheimer's Association  National Office
  • Supports Georgia Chapter Development Team 
    • As a member of the Georgia Chapter Leadership Team, works collaboratively with other Senior Directors, Executive Director and other stakeholders developing strategy, budgets, and implementation plans for all fundraising activities statewide.
    • Responsible for maintaining expense budgets as approved by Executive Director
    • Supports Leadership Councils in assigned geographic area
    • Responsible for other duties as assigned by Executive Directors
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years non-profit event management experience, and four years of staff supervision experience
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale community events (mass market)
  • Demonstrated success in direct staff supervision
  • Strong and proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task
  • Proven experience with Blackbaud/Convio fundraising systems
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to travel throughout region and occasionally nationally, at times during evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
