Reporting to SEVC Y CEO, Ronnie Stone, the Triunfo Y Executive Director is an important member of the organization’s leadership.  S/he will open and manage the new operation and is responsible for identifying, hiring and managing a top performing staff team, creating a culture of outstanding member service, high quality programs and a mission-orientation engrained with the tenets of social responsibility.   The Executive Director through her/his own actions and leadership, ensures that these qualities are embedded in staff and visible to members and program participants.  

The Executive Director must possess the skills and experience to identify, recruit, develop and engage a strong board of directors who help brand the Triunfo Y as a compelling nonprofit provider in the region through their leadership, giving, outreach and involvement.  They ensure that the financial and operational goals of the Y are met.  

S/he is responsible for a robust financial development program including a member engaged annual campaign, the branch golf tournament, major gifts, corporate and foundation grants, sponsorships and donor stewardship.  It is critical that the Executive Director understands the community and is active and involved in developing partnerships, meeting and engaging key leaders and building the reputation of the Y throughout the region.  

S/he must be able to set and meet operational goals and demonstrate achievement in member satisfaction, growth and retention, and be a team player supporting the overall goals of the SEVC Y association.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Coordinates the development of the branch board and committees.  Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area.
  • Oversees the hiring, training and supervision of staff.
  • Identifies, cultivates and helps the board recruit skilled and engaged members to help guide the branch and provide needed intellectual and financial resources.  Ensure that the board operates efficiently and effectively through active committees coordinated and managed by the Executive Director and assigned staff. 
  • Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets.
  • Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan for the branch and direct reports.  Ensures that each Director and their direct reports develop operating plans for their areas of responsibility. 
  • Develops and directs high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation among staff and board members with measurable goals evaluated quarterly for progress toward achievement.   
  • Develops member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Directs branch marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefit to the community.
  • Plays a leadership role in helping maximize the involvement and contribution of members of the board in their personal giving and fundraising, annual campaign planning and recruitment, golf tournament leadership and sponsor recruitment, as well as other methods for raising funds.
  • Nurtures a team spirit among staff that encourages mutual support, a high quality member relations culture and mutual responsibility for the branch’s success. 
  • Ensures safety compliance, building and equipment maintenance, exceptionally clean facilities and well- kept grounds.   
  • Serves as a member of senior management team and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA.
  • Performs other job related duties as requested and necessary. 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Ten or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of  branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred. 
  • CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00
