RefugeeOne, located in the West Ridge (West Rogers Park) neighborhood of Chicago, has a national reputation for its success in assisting refugees fleeing war, terror, and persecution to build new lives of safety, dignity, and self-reliance.  One of the largest resettlement agencies in the country, and the largest in Illinois, this is an opportunity to steward and expand an already robust fundraising program. RefugeeOne successfully completed a capital campaign during the pandemic, has a committed core of donor diplomats, and relationships of mutual trust and respect with individual and institutional donors. 

The RefugeeOne Development team obtains financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations and Government through grants, events, communications and social media. The Director of Development / Fundraising will join a team of experienced professionals plus interns and volunteers. This position reports to the Executive Director

Areas of Responsibility: 

Requirements:

  • Excellent writing skills
  • Proven expertise 5 years in major gift fundraising
  • Seven to ten years of successful development experience including managing projects and budgets
  • Relationship builder who can balance personal drive and initiative with team-work
  • Comfortable working with people from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required, Master’s preferred.
Compensation/Benefits: 

RefugeeOne offers a competitive salary ($95k - $105k) and excellent benefits.
