NeighborImpact is a beacon of hope and support for local communities. Established in 1985, our organization serves and uplifts the economically disadvantaged residents of Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties, as well as the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. With our mission to support individuals and strengthen communities, NeighborImpact has been instrumental in preparing children for kindergarten, keeping homes’ heat and lights on, distributing over 6 million pounds of food, assisting community members in purchasing their first homes, and an array of other programs and services. Areas of Responsibility: 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Director of Development plays a pivotal role in the financial health and sustainability of the organization. Their primary responsibility is to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, which includes securing major gifts, annual campaign and grassroots fundraising, digital and online fundraising, foundation grants, corporate gifts and sponsorship, some government grants, events and planned giving. This position identifies and cultivates relationships with major gift prospects and donors, aligning fundraising goals with the organization's mission and values. Additionally, the Director of Development manages and leads a team of fundraising professionals, providing them with guidance, training, and support to ensure that fundraising targets are met or exceeded. Collaboration with the communications team is also crucial for the Development Director, as they work together to create effective donor communications and marketing materials. Moreover, they play a significant role in working closely with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director to strategize and achieve fundraising objectives.

Skills/Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; masters preferred. 
  • Educational background in fundraising or other evidence of on-going continuing education in the field, preferred
  • 3 years of fundraising experience, including successful management and major gift work.
  • Successful record of accomplishment in annual campaign, donor relations, donor acquisition and upgrade programs and demonstrated history of successful applications to foundations, required Experience in corporate fundraising and events management. Experience in applying for federal grants preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to raise at least $2.5 million annually from all sources after one year of employment. 
  • Prior to date of hire and throughout employment:
  1. Valid driver’s license
  2. Proof of current auto insurance
  3. Access to reliable transportation required
  4. Satisfactory criminal background check required
  5. Ability to work and travel, including nights and weekends, in adverse weather conditions and by ground and air.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Location: Bend

Compensation: $60.10/hour (Plus $0.50/hour for Spanish/English bilingual ability)

Hours: Regular full-time, Exempt (40 hours/week)

Benefits: 100% premium paid Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, Agency paid Retirement plan (up to 6%), almost 2 weeks of vacation time accrued in your first year, plus 14 paid Holidays annually, and a separate sick leave accrual
