Save the Children’s USDA portfolio seeks an enthusiastic and energetic intern with an interest in learning more about how school meal projects succeed across the globe. The intern would lead efforts to collect, edit, and organize key project documents in a manner that would allow for learning and the overall improvement of project management across Save the Children’s portfolio of USDA work.
As an intern or skilled volunteer, you will have the opportunity to network with other Save the Children interns, volunteers and employees and participate in learning sessions about various topics spanning the breadth of Save the Children's work. Through this experience, you will gain a greater understanding about how the international development community intersects with the private sector. You will also gain transferable skills that are applicable to a variety of roles, particularly in the non-profit industry, marketing, sales, and client services.
- Collecting and reviewing standard project management documents from country offices to identify best practices across the USDA portfolio
- Helping to create a framework for identifying and collecting further lessons learned and best practices information from across the USDA portfolio
- Revising project management documents to become generic templates that can be utilized from one project to another
- Collecting and editing project specific success stories
- Creating and organizing online platform for document storage
- Drafting online content to explain and support the project management tools and guidance for the USDA portfolio
- Interested in project management and/or international school meal programs
- Skilled in Microsoft Products – to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Highly organized and familiar with online databases/tools for document storage
- Self-motivated and willing to take tasks forward with minimal direction
- Ability to work across teams to meet specific requirements of job responsibility
- Possess strong written skills, solid interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- To be classified as an intern: (Minimum requirement is a letter of support and documentation is required only after an internship offer is accepted.)
- An individual who is not enrolled as a student or able to receive credit from their institution may apply to an internship, however will be classified as a skilled volunteer, not as an intern.
