The Summer Intern for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) will support Save the Children’s US Programs (USP) M&E team, which monitors and evaluates USP’s disaster, response and recovery and rural education programs. Because of the diverse programs within USP’s portfolio, the Intern will support the M&E team in the analysis of data in settings ranging from homes in remote rural communities to cities recently affected by a natural disaster. The Intern will support the M&E team by managing, cleaning and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, and creating graphs, tables and reports. This is a great position for someone looking to gain experience collecting, managing, cleaning and analyzing data in a wide variety of contexts. This position is the right fit for someone who is willing to do entry-level work, but is also be excited to take on new challenges.
- Support of US Programs’ disaster response and recovery’s data collection and data systems, as well as associated internal reporting
- Quantitative data collection administration (mainly for UPS’s rural education programs)--overseeing online and paper survey distribution, copying and scanning surveys and tracking survey returns
- Data analysis, visualization and reporting
- Qualitative research coordination, execution, data analysis and reporting
- Other duties as assigned

- To be classified as an intern: (Minimum requirement is a letter of support and documentation is required only after an internship offer is accepted.)
- An individual who is not enrolled as a student or able to receive credit from their institution may apply to an internship, however will be classified as a skilled volunteer, not as an intern.

- Superior writing skills
- Intermediate Excel skills including facility with formulas, pivot tables and filtering tools
- Strong data visualization skills: ability to create graphs and tables that clearly communicate findings
- STATA programmer
- Qualitative research experience
