Internship

Under Skills to Succeed (S2S), a global program supported by Accenture, Save the Children addresses the global youth unemployment crisis. S2S assists 60,000 at-risk youth, to acquire the competencies they need to get a job or build a business, breaking the inter-generational cycle of poverty. We work alongside young people, local NGOs, governments, and the private sector in multiple countries (China, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Mexico) to design and deliver market-relevant skill building opportunities. We also enhance the quality and reach of job placement services that link youth with opportunities to apply new skills and improve their prospects of securing safe and decent work.

S2S takes advantage of a variety of technologies for amplifying the reach and improving the quality of the global program. These currently include Augmented Reality, eLearning, interactive mobile applications, and other relevant and context-appropriate tools. Beyond the use of ICTs as project tools, S2S also considers the ways through which technology is impacting economies, and uses this understanding to prepare youth for 21st century employment through digital skilling for Business Process Outsourcing careers. The ICT4D Intern will be an important contributor to ICT4D project needs around learning, knowledge management, team building, project and product management, thought leadership, and other tasks as required.
