The Department of Global Health seeks a Fellow to focus on M&E support for the reproductive health team in (or nearby) one of the program locations: Democratic Republic of Congo, Niger, Rwanda, Somalia, Egypt, Yemen, Syria, Pakistan, or Bangladesh.
Specific tasks will include strengthening the M&E toolkit and framework for the community mobilization team, training data collectors and supervising routine assessments for the FP-PAC project such as a register review, client exit interviews, and focus group discussions, and supporting the HMIS officer to monitor the quality of program data and use it for programmatic action. Other tasks could include tool development, data collection, data analysis, and writing for ongoing research projects or write-ups of best practice briefs.
- Support the Reproductive Health in Emergencies M&E team and ensure the quality of data collected from facilities into the global facility data base, training database, community database, and promote using all of this data for programmatic action
- Update the community mobilization M&E framework and tools to track community health activities
- Facilitate trainings for staff and hired data collectors on quality data collection, research ethics, research methods, and data analysis to support program activities and research as well as promote an innovative environment of adult learning
- Support the national team in better using the DHIS2 platform called IMPACT for data use
- Support the HMIS FP-PAC Officer in his role to monitor data quality
- Support the integration between MEAL team and the HMIS system for the FP-PAC program
- Any other reasonable duties may be assigned that are consistent with the nature of the job and level of responsibility
- Current MPH Candidate
- Coursework and/or experience in program planning, research design, data collection, data analysis
- Coursework and/or experience in data entry and analysis software (STATA, SPSS, SAS, etc.)
- Prior experience working in an international development settings and a desire to work in and experience humanitarian settings is preferred.
- Prior experience with training, tool development and research writing
- Prior experience conducting research in a field setting
- Fluent in English with strong verbal and writing skills in French, Arabic, or other language as relevant
- Independent problem-solver and decision-maker.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; detail oriented.
- Possess strong written skills, solid interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
