Integrated Communications & Marketing (ICM) ensures that AARP has a clear and consistent voice across the spectrum of issues that impact both our members and people age 50-plus. Within ICM, the AARP Integrated Marketing team serves as an internal strategic marketing partner with program and issue leads across AARP for top enterprise issues. IM develops and delivers comprehensive, omni-channel marketing campaigns to support key programs and cross-Association initiatives

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Support the marketing of AARP’s social impact issue areas, including auto, caregiving, fraud, healthy living, hearing, online learning, savings & planning, travel, and work & jobs.
  • Assist members of the team on projects related to marketing campaign strategy, messaging, targeting, testing and/or execution.
  • Conduct internet research on emerging trends in consumer behavior, industry solutions, emerging channels and communication platforms, competitive landscape, etc.
  • Assist with marketing project management.
  • Project tasks could include email test plan development, online paid media plan development, workflow initiation, working with creative agencies to secure creative assets, sourcing content for promotion in marketing campaigns, etc.
  • Research, plan, and/or compile submissions for marketing industry awards.
  • Develop and/or polish internal marketing planning and/or communication templates.
Educational Background: 
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post doctorate students.   
Skills/Experience: 

AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers.  This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
