The Sponsorship-funded programs operate in 20 countries worldwide. The mission of the Sponsorship-funded programming is to transform the lives of children, sponsored and non-sponsored, to ensure children have the healthy start, opportunity to learn and protection from harm.

The Sponsorship Data Visualization Fellow will provide invaluable support to the Program Quality & Impact – Sponsorship (PQIS) team. The Sponsorship program had over 15 evaluations in 2019, and the team is looking to use the available data to develop visual tools for easy digestion by various stakeholders. This role will support the development of internal country data visualization dashboards using Power BI, ensuring great user experience (UX) for a wide range of staff (e.g. resource development, program, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning staff). You will be a key team member creating effective visualization tools that use the data to answer key learning questions in an engaging, intuitive and informative manner.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Using Power BI and the existing Sponsorship country dashboard template, create dashboards for each country that conducted endline and midterm evaluations in 2019.
  • Provide feedback and revise as necessary the current Sponsorship country dashboard template.
  • In collaboration with the Sponsorship MEAL Specialists, provide input to Sponsorship’s Data Visualization plan.
Educational Background: 
Must be an actively enrolled graduate or post-graduate student or have graduated within 6 months of start date
Skills/Experience: 
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Experience using data visualization software (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Experience using statistical package (e.g. Stata, R)
  • Experience developing dashboards or other infographics, considering UI and UX
  • Possess strong written skills, solid interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Currently eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research skills
  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS and/or QGIS)
  • Proficiency in French and/or Spanish
