AARP seeks an enthusiastic, detail-oriented E-mail Marketing intern with a “can do” attitude who enjoys a fast-paced environment to execute e-mail campaigns. The intern will collaborate with the e-mail marketing and e-mail technical teams, along with agencies during all stages of an e-mail campaign (from strategy, to development, to build and deploy, to post-deployment analysis).This is not a technical position. No web programming required.
Ideal candidates should possess:
- A strong desire to learn along with a professional drive.
- Entry-level experience with e-mail marketing and/or other digital marketing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent project management and Microsoft Office skills (primarily Powerpoint and Excel).
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, fluid environment while ensuring deliverables are met within assigned deadlines.
- Ability to autonomously manage tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work 2-5 hours daily, Monday through Friday.
- Experience with website analytics such as Adobe, Google, and/or Facebook.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Support E-mail Marketing Managers with day-to-day e-mail campaign tasks including, but not limited to:
- Completion of content templates to intake copy, image and URL requirements for the build of weekly and monthly subscription e-mails.
- Review of HTML proofs to ensure that content is rendering correctly on desktop and mobile.
- Analysis and reporting on e-mail campaign performance on a weekly and monthly basis to internal stakeholders.
- Daily monitoring of trigger/transactional campaign volumes.
- Assist with documentation of processes and recommendations for improvements/optimizations.
- Assist with promoting e-mail success stories across internal communication channels, including development of PowerPoint and other documents.
- Other projects, as assigned.
Educational Background:
Interns must be currently enrolled in a degreed program at an accredited college or university; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0; and be considered rising graduate students, or post doctorate students.
Skills/Experience:
- AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.
