The Research Unit at Amnesty International USA is seeking both legal and non-legal interns with a strong background and interest in human rights to work on research projects supporting our End Gun Violence (EGV) Campaign.

- Developing a substantive and policy knowledge base in gun violence prevention law and policy, US laws related to the possession and/or use of firearms by private and state actors, as well as the international human rights law obligations of the US with respect to gun violence
- Engaging with EGV Coalition partners, advisory committees, community leaders, researchers, and experts in the EGV field
- Strong background in the issues of gun violence
- Knowledge of the relevant international law, in particular, familiarity with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the Convention Against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment.
